Karen & Ruben Popet – Beraca Orphanage in Jdioara, Romania

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.   James 1:27

Dear Friends,

We pray everyone had a blessed Easter celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  It was so nice for our family to be able to be together in church with the rest of our extended family.  Romania does not celebrate Easter until May 5 as they celebrate the Orthodox holiday.

The children and teenagers always have a list of activities that they participate in on a regular basis as well as special events that they attend.  Some of the regular activities that they are involved in are piano lessons, kickboxing lessons, German and English lessons, speech therapy and youth meetings in Timisoara.  This month they also attended a Heaven Come conference and a Freedom night.  There are so many opportunities available to young people in the bigger cities.  We are thankful that our teenagers can attend and want to go.

Valentina took the girls on an outing to two nearby villages where they had made friends from past trips there.  They had a fun time seeing everyone, playing, and eating.  Nicoletta, our new girl, is also going to a program that the school is sponsoring where the children go in the evening for reading activities to improve their reading skills.

We learned of a father with a large family that has been diagnosed with cancer. This month we bought the medicine that he needed as it is extremely expensive in Romania.  We also helped the family with food.  And we again bought food for some young people who are going to college and have a tough time making ends meet.  We are thankful for God’s abundant provision so we can bless others.

All of you have a part in the things that are happening with our children and teenagers as well as so many others in Romania.  Your generosity and prayers are a vital part of the ministry.

Thank you for partnering with us.
