Romanian Ministries Update

Tuesday, August 29th, 2017

Dear Friends at the Philippian Fellowship,

Thank you so much for your faithfulness in helping us to spread the gospel here in Romania.  Thanks for your prayers and support in June and July.  I would love to see you guys in September, I will be in the northeast for a few days bringing Corina to WOLBI in NY.

The Lord has given us many opportunities for ministry this spring and summer.  What a joy to have all our children home for the summer and ministering alongside of us.  At the beginning of the summer, our oldest son Michael asked Alina to be his wife, (she said yes).  We are excited about the opportunities the Lord has placed before them, using their medical and sports professions to give forth the message of the gospel here in Romania.

We hosted many different groups that came to assist with the new church construction in Valea Argovei, and leading weeks of camp and VBS in four different ministry locations.  In the spring Kristin purchased a new tablecloth, white with black outlined flowers.  I suggested that we should have all our guests sign their name and color a flower or leaf.  You see the result of 78 overnight guests in the beautiful artwork they designed on the attached picture.

Camp Eli was again a blessing to many, we hosted 880 folks this summer with different groups, and took nearly 300 of our own children, teens, leaders to camps as well.  We are thankful for the opportunity to host these children who are truly thankful for the opportunity to spend a week in a wonderful setting among God’s people who love them.  A special thanks to the different teams that gave of their time and resources to come and help us lead these weeks of camp.

We have just begun a new believers class at church with people who have decided to follow the Lord in believer’s baptism.  Many of them are youth from within our church who were challenged this summer with their need to publicly proclaim their faith in the Lord.  Pray with us for this group of 14 who have just begun.

We are so thankful for the Godly heritage of those who have gone before us.  My godly grandma Fannie went home to be with the Lord August 11 at the age of 97. She faithfully served the Lord (taught second grade SS class for 60 years) and was looking forward to going to be with Him.  Thanks for all your encouraging words during this time.  It is difficult to be far from family during times like this.

We love you and are thankful for your investment in our lives and the ministry here in Romania.

Here, things are good, thank God. The family is good, in November we had the blessing of our newest granddaughter, Amelia Eunice, Vichi’s daughter. Below is a picture of Luci and me with her and our two other granddaughters.

Ministry wise, we had a good year in Pestere, in August we had a baptism service, and three people decided to follow God. They are active in the church, which is a great joy for us. Like every year, we are preparing for the evangelistic week in both villages, Pestere and Teregova, so please pray for that, pray that people will come to hear the Gospel and that they will receive the Lord. We have a children’s ministry in Teregova that is going well and brings joy to the church and to God.

Pastor Jacob and I are attending a group of pastors from the area where we live, who gather every Monday and pray for revival and for the full power of the Holy Spirit in our lives and the lives of the members in the churches that we serve.

Thank you again, so much for your constant support and prayers. God has blessed us so much through you. Please let us know how we can pray for you and send our greetings to your family and the church.

God bless you!

Here is a brief update regarding the ministry of Toni Carabas, in Romania. He writes:

We are doing well, busy with the usual, and enjoying our 3 grandchildren (and expecting the fourth in September, Vichi’s baby girl).

Please pray for our family, on the 21st of this month, Luci is scheduled for tyroid surgery and we need all the prayer we can get.

As regarding ministry, we will have 2 baptisms this summer, one in Teregova and one in Pestere, each with 3-4 candidates.

This week we changed the church roof in Teregova and all went well.

Part of the children and youth in the two churches are going on a camp next week, please pray that it will be a life changing time for them.

Thank you so much for your continuous suport and prayers! God bless you! Greetings to your family and church!

Dear David,
I have received your e-mail, thank you very much!
Well, here is everything ok, we are all healthy and happy because God loves us and gives us so many blessings. We just started to work our land after two or three rainy weeks. My leg is ok now, no pain anymore. In the 5th of May here is the holiday of Easter, and we all are preparing for this amazing Celebration of our Jesus. I think you already know that we have a grandson, Antonela`s baby, Levi is his name, he is such a joy for our family. About the ministry in Pestere and Teregova I can say that I see God’s hand over these churches. At Teregova we will have a baptism in August. There are two bands at Teregova, an orchestra which started a short time ago and an instrumental band, both of them brings life and joy to the church of Teregova . Here, at Pestere we had a week of preaching the gospel, and for the moment we pray for  the people in our village to meet Jesus one day, and we truly hope that day will be soon.
Every Monday evening I go to a group of pastors and presbyters which pray for our area, we pray for salvation, filling with the Holy Spirit.
Thank you for your love. May God bless you and keep you in His blessed hands.

I am writing to you to let you know that between 7th and 13th of January there has been at our church a full week of preaching the Gospel of Christ and singing in honor of our God. There were invited every evening pastors and singers … and God worked through them. The church was every evening full of people from our village, and I hope there will be a day for them when they will accept Jesus in their lives.
There were, also, the mayor, the vice-mayor, the mayor`s adviser, the chef of local police, and for the first time in our church a group of people from France, the mayor of Montrevel – en – Bresse community, the community with which our community has been related for more than 20 years now.

I attached some pictures for you to see what a great time we had at church.
Unfortunately, on the day of 8th of January I slipped down on ice an I broke my right leg. My son Vichi took me to the hospital and they plastered my leg for one month. I am pretty fine now, and I hope I will be better.
This Sunday, on the 27th of January there will be Vichi`s ordination at one of the two churches that he will work at.
Between 28th of February and 3th of March, there will be 4 days of preaching the Gospel and singing in honor of our God at Teregova, please pray for this. I will send some pictures from Teregova, too.

Thank you very much for your love and support. May God bless you every second of your life!

In 2012 we had a baptism in Teregova (2 people) and in the last 3 months we managed to form an orchestra that plays in the church. In Pestere, we celebrated 65 years since the first Baptist church was built and 20 since we moved in a new building. We had many guests: pastors, singers and believers as well as non-believers who came to rejoice with us.

For the first months of 2013 we will have evangelism evenings in both churches: next week in Pestere and at the beginning of February in Teregova. We pray to be able to form an orchestra in Pestere as well, but it’s still in the project phase, we still need to pray about it. In the summer we plan to start renovation work in Teregova, meaning changing the roof and installing a new heating system. Please pray for us as we do all these things and also please pray for the salvation of people, which is why we are here.

May God bless you this year and may He help you fulfill your plans for 2013.
Love in Christ, Toni Carabas.
