Ruben Popet – Beraca Orphanage in Jdioara, Romania

Here are the messages from us, the young people from Jdioara, who for a good period of our lives, called Beraca our home and a little reminder of everything that Mrs. Karen did for us, and what she means to us:

Sarbu Bogdan

I would like to begin by saying that I did not expect God to call Mrs. Karen home, who, for us, was like a mother.  She remains and will remain an example to us in terms of perseverance, respect, integrity and love for God and for those around her, showing all these qualities through the life she lived.  The most important thing I learned at Beraca was the love for God.  Mrs. Karen placed great emphasis on the relationship with God.  She understood the importance of other things, but also understood that our deeds follow us, and that what we do for others will go with us into eternity.  Mrs. Karen left as a conqueror.  She left as a winner of heaven.  For her, this departure is a graduation.  She graduated from this world.  She is waiting for us to graduate, to be conquerors, just as she was.  What you do for God will never be erased.

Mrs. Karen, I’m so glad I had you in my life.  I have many beautiful memories with you.  I remember when you told me when I first came to Beraca, I was left in your arms.  You always educated and loved us, showing us love and kindness!  I will never forget you; you will always remain in my heart!

Maria Mihai

I don’t know how to begin. A piece of each of our hearts has been torn.  For me, you were truly the first mother, and Ruben was the father.  I thank you for everything you did for us.  I don’t know what we would have done or where we would be today, but thanks to you, I learned many things in life.  I am grateful that you chose to be my spiritual parents and decided to teach me what is right and wrong, how to build a career in life, and last but not least, to love God and put Him first.  Because without Him, we are nothing on this earth.  You will always remain in my heart, and you will always be my first mother.  You were a fighter for everyone and the best example in each of our lives.

Arman Andrei

What can you say about Mrs. Karen!  She was an exceptional woman, a good person, someone who sacrificed her entire life for the good of others, including for me!  My words cannot express the gratitude I have for this wonderful woman!  With respect and esteem, Andrei
