Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27
This has been another fun and busy month for our children. They got to enjoy many activities before school started last week. They attended another camp in the mountains where they met new friends, had Bible studies, learned new games to play and had good food and fresh air. Everyone had a great time. Another day they went hiking on a nearby mountain. They had a blueberry picking contest at the top of the mountain. When they returned home, they made a big cake with the blueberries. Prizes were given to those who collected the most.
Valentina’s grandparents live in a village not too far from Jdioara. Valentina took all of the children there. They stayed for a couple of days. They had another contest. This time it was picking mushrooms in the forest. Everyone was winners and were awarded with their favorite fruit. Again, the children met new friends and played lots of fun games with them.
The children and teenagers all look forward to going shopping for new school clothes. Valentina taught them about the value of money and how to buy what they need with confidence that they were doing a good job. With the money leftover from shopping, the children and teenagers went and played at the mall’s entertainment area. They also are go to Timisoara every Sunday for church. Afterwards, they plan different activities to do before coming home.
Another day, the children and teenagers visited a park in a nearby town. It was a great place for them to run, climb, play and eat good ice cream. They continue to enjoy campfires with marshmellows, biscuits and chocolate and go swimming on hot days. Each day, everyone reads in the yard and presents what they have read. It is great to get them interested in reading. It will help them so much in school.
Our family has been blessed here in America. We have found a house and moved into it. Friends from different churches have helped us to get what we need for it. We have also been blessed with friends who are modifying our bathroom and painting the rooms. It has been a miracle to see how God provides so abundantly. Someone else has given us a small truck. And, Ruben has started to work at Home Depot. All of our needs are being met in such a neat way.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support for our work in Romania. Things continue to go great there. Thanks for your prayers for our family, too. God is answering them. We appreciate each of you so much.
With our love,
Ruben, Karen & Bianca
