Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27
Everyone is finally done with school. Cosmin, who was in seventh grade, finished third in his class. Andrada finished second in her fifth-grade class. We are proud of them. David still needs to take the final exams for eighth grade to determine which high school he will go to. The children went on a field trip with the school to finish off the year. They all had a fun time. Now, they are ready to go swimming and do other summer activities.
Our friends from Germany came to visit this month. We always have a wonderful time with them. They helped to entertain the children and teenagers by playing games and doing other things with them as it was raining most of the weekend. They also served them a gourmet breakfast two mornings in a row. Then another group from Germany came last week. There were twelve people on motorcycles. When they came rolling into our courtyard, it was quite the sight. We are good friends with the leader of the group. They have helped with the orphanage over the years. The boys loved seeing the motorcycles up close. They stayed with us for a couple of nights. It was fun for our children and teenagers to interact with them.
All of Ruben’s siblings, their spouses, their children and spouses and the grandchildren came to have a picnic with our children and teenagers. One sister has thirty grandchildren alone, so we were quite a crowd. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship. The children loved playing in the back of our yard. Unfortunately, the day ended quickly when a storm blew in. But, it had been a good day and was great to see everyone.
The trees at the farm are full of cherries now. Every night the children go there to enjoy eating them fresh off the tree. The garden is doing well, too. We are already enjoying some of the produce from it. God has His hand on the work here and continues to bless us in so many ways.
Bianca graduated from high school this past month, too. We are proud of her. She plans to go on to college in America in the fall. We will be going back as a family to the USA on July 5 as Karen has tests that she needs to do. Please pray for these and her complete healing. Thank you so much.
Thank you also for your faithful prayers and generous giving. You all are a blessing to us and all of those who you are touching in Romania. We pray that you enjoy your summer.
With our love,
Ruben, Karen & Bianca
